The symposium will take place at the Agora du Haut-Carré in Talence

This building was originally built as a cloister and its chapel, and is located in a vast (nine hectares) estate near Bordeaux.

Today, the chapel and cloister of the Agora du Haut Carré are the property of the University of Bordeaux and have become a place to welcome and promote scientific research with a vast auditorium that can accommodate 350 people.

Easily accessible by tramway, the Haut-Carré is located few steps away from Bordeaux University campus.

The main entrance to the Haut-Carré is located in the roundabout of rue Pierre Noailles and rue du 7ème art.

 

Bordeaux region is famous for its vineyards and historic culture. A very good opportunity to discover the city and explore the region!

Reaching Bordeaux from the airport (Mérignac)

  • Direct shuttle Airport - Train station: every 30min (7/7, 24/24) you can take a shuttle from the Airport (Hall B) to Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station (Hall 2), a key transport hub (tram that brings you to the downtown center)
  • Bus Lianes 1+: every 10min this bus (Hall B, Gate 7) serves the downtown of Bordeaux as well as the train station, and offers connections to the city's tram lines.
  • Taxi: taxis cabs companies operating at the airport are available outside Hall A.

Reaching Bordeaux from the airport (Mérignac)

  • Bus Lianes 1+: every 10min this bus (Hall B, Gate 7) serves the downtown of Bordeaux. Alight at Victoire (Aristide Briand) stop. Then take the tram B towards/direction Pessac Centre and alight at Forum station (~1h20)

 

Reaching Bordeaux from the airport (Mérignac)

  • Tram lines: Take the C line towards Aubiers, and alight at Quinconcesstation to take the B line direction Pessac Centre. Alight at Forum station (~44min)
  • Bus Lianes: 4 different bus routes (1, 9, 10 and 11 lianes) allow getting to the Agora.
    • Bus lianes 10: Take the bus line direction Gradignan Beausoleil and alight at Les Harmonies stop. Follow on walking upward on Rue de Suzon until the first roundabout on the tram’s line junction. Keep going on Rue Pierre Noailles. The main entrance of the Agora is located in the roundabout of Rue Pierre Noailles and Rue du 7ème art (~28min)

    • Bus lianes 1, 11: Take the lianes 1 direction Merignac Aéroport or the lianes 11 direction Martignas les Pins and alight at Victoire stop to catch the tram line B until Forum station (~34min)
    • Bus lianes 9: Take the bus line direction Bordeaux Brandenburg and alight at Barrière Saint-Genès stop to catch the tram line B until Forum station (~32min)

From the Forum station (Tram B)

Forum is the closest tram station to get to the Agora (~7-9min walk)

Run the Rue du 7ème art, by passing the main entrance of “La taverne du 7e art” and the movie theatre and proceed straight until you reach the roundabout (red way).

You can also follow Cours de la liberation along the tram’s line. When you meet the first roundabout, turn on the right (1st exit) to take Rue Pierre Noailles. When you reach the second roundabout, enter the Haut-Carré domain (2nd exit) and go forward the Agora building (blue way).

Reaching the Agora from the bypass (outside of Bordeaux)

Take the A630 highway (Rocade)

Exit 16, towards Domaine Universitaire.

Follow Cours de la Liberation towards Talence Centre. You will reach a first roundabout (Mc Donalds restaurant). Go straight ahead on the street about 2 kilometers, drive past the big gate of the University (on your left).

At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Rue Pierre Noailles.

100 meters to the right, you will find the main entrance to the free municipal car park.

Then continue until the roundabout and enter the Haut-Carré domain (3rd exit)

Bordeaux is located on the center of the Gironde department, within the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine
